Riyadh: launch week in the desert

Three days, 640 guests and a stage built in 48 hours — the biggest room I have run to date.

01

Why it happened

The region's creator economy was growing faster than the tooling around it. We wanted a room where operators, brands and platform teams could compare notes in person instead of over email threads.

02

What happened

A full-day programme of keynotes, hands-on workshops and a closing social. Sessions ran back to back with a live production crew capturing everything for post-event content.

03

The next steps

Turning the recordings into an evergreen content series, opening the waitlist for the next edition, and shipping the partner playbook that came out of the workshop notes.

Riyadh moves fast. We were handed a hall, a date and a promise that the LED wall would arrive — the rest we built in the room.

Hours to build the stage

Empty hall to doors open

  1. Day -2

    Load-in

Truss, LED wall and a very patient crew.

  2. Day 1

    Keynote

Doors at 09:00, room full by 09:12.

  3. Day 2

    Workshops

Six parallel tracks, capped at 40 each.

  4. Day 3

    Closing

Awards, then everyone straight to the airport.

Big rooms do not need bigger ideas. They need earlier decisions.
